CAIRO, Dec 15 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty inaugurated on Sunday a training program for university students on peace and security issues.

The program is organized by the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peace-building.

In a speech, Abdelatty expressed his happiness to meet Egyptian university students who represent hope for a better future of the country, pointing out the importance of the program in light of the State keenness on the role of youth in building the nation and achieving sustainable development goals at national, regional and international levels.

He said the Foreign Ministry is keen on enhancing interaction with youth and listening to their opinions and suggestions on current regional and international challenges, especially conflicts, humanitarian crises, climate change and terrorism.

The goal of the program is to hone the skills of Egyptian youth and prepare them to be able to face the complex challenges in the world through a deeper understanding of the priorities of Egyptian foreign policy and the surrounding regional and international circumstances.

He also addressed the exceptional circumstances that the region and the world are going through, including the worsening state of international polarization, the escalation of conflicts and the challenges of forced displacement, reviewing the efforts made by Egypt to achieve peace and stability.

Abdelatty reviewed the priorities of Egyptian foreign policy and its adherence to the principle of strategic balance and rejection of international polarization, highlighting the developmental role of the ministry of foreign affairs in supporting the Egyptian economy, as well as the priority given to serving the interests of Egyptians abroad and the plan to digitize consular services.
