NEW ADMINISTRATIVE CAPITAL, Dec 15 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Sunday strategic relations between Egypt and the United States are solid, expressing appreciation for the new US administration that lauds efforts exerted by Egypt in dealing with unresolved issues in Gaza, Sudan and Syria.

In a meeting with a number of press and media people at the New Administrative Capital in the presence of the head of the State Information Service (SIS), Sisi said "We are communicating with the new US administration, and there is a level of trust between the two countries."

"We saw appreciation from them, and we will continue efforts to find solutions to pending issues in Gaza, Sudan and Syria," he added.

The strategic relationship between Egypt and the United States was subjected to long tests; but it proved strength, solidity and steadfastness, and past experiments proved the need for the United States to maintain its strategic relationship with Egypt, according to the president.

Regarding the situation in Syria, Sisi said the political and geographical changes affected its role and position.
Syria's geopolitical position is strong, but at the same time it has determinants that control it, he added.

At the same time, he expressed hope that God will save Syria at the hands of the Syrians themselves, stressing that the fate of any country is linked to the decisions of its people and not anyone else.

Those who take the decision should be the people of the country, he said, adding that they either take a decision to demolish it or rebuild it.

On the other hand, Sisi stressed that the concept of strategic leadership goes beyond managing the armed forces to include state facilities and institutions. Therefore, the idea of moving to the New Administrative Capital was part of a strategic plan to reorganize the state administration and achieve development," he pointed out.

President Sisi said as long as the Egyptians are one heart, and one hand, with their army and police, no one would ever defeat them. (MENA)
