CAIRO, Feb 13 (MENA) - The Egyptian and Qatari efforts have successfully overcome obstacles that were hindering the completion of the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip between Israel and Hamas, a well-placed source said on Thursday.
The source added that both parties have committed to completing the implementation of the truce.
On January 15, 2025, a ceasefire agreement was reached in the Gaza Strip, involving an exchange of prisoners and detainees between Israel and Hamas.
This agreement will be implemented in three phases, through mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States. It came into effect as of January 19, 2025.
During the 42-day first phase, Israel will withdraw its forces from densely populated areas, and an exchange of prisoners and detainees will take place. (MENA)
