CAIRO, Feb 13 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said Egypt looks forward to elevating relations with Ukraine to broader prospects in a way that achieves mutual benefit for the peoples of both countries.
Abdelatty made the remarks during his meeting on Thursday with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in Paris where he attends the ministerial meeting on Syria.
The top Egyptian diplomat said Egypt hopes for holding political consultations with the Ukrainian side in Cairo this year.
The Egyptian foreign minister lauded the significant increase in trade exchange between Egypt and Ukraine, which is estimated at more than USD 2 billion.
Abdelatty underlined the importance of strengthening trade cooperation between Egypt and Ukraine, while establishing trilateral collaboration with African states.
The two ministers exchanged views on regional developments, notably the situation in the Gaza Strip.
In this regard, Abdelatty reviewed Egypt's efforts to stabilize the three-phase ceasefire agreement in Gaza and implement all its terms, while moving ahead with the reconstruction process without displacing Palestinians out of their land. (MENA)
