PARIS, Feb 13 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty participated Thursday in Paris ministerial meeting on Syria, which was attended in part by French President Emmanuel Macron.

During the meeting, Abdelatty emphasized the importance of preserving Syria’s unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty while supporting its national institutions.

He called for an inclusive Syrian-owned political process that represents all components of Syrian society without exclusion, in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2254.

The minister reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for the Syrian people and their legitimate aspirations.

He highlighted the need for a political process that reflects Syria’s social, religious, sectarian, and ethnic diversity, ensuring Syria becomes a source of stability in the region.

Abdelatty also stressed the necessity for all national political forces to play a role in managing the transitional phase and rebuilding the country’s institutions to restore Syria’s rightful regional and international standing.

Additionally, he underscored the importance of regional and international cooperation in combating terrorism, emphasizing that no terrorist elements should be harbored on the Syrian territories. (MENA)
