CAIRO, Feb 13 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said Thursday that planning and studies are currently being conducted to develop a comprehensive vision for the reconstruction of Gaza, in full coordination with the Palestinian side.
Details of these plans will be announced in the coming period, Mabdouli told a press conference following the weekly Cabinet meeting.
The premier emphasized that reconstruction is not unprecedented, citing historical examples such as post-World War II Germany and Japan, where rebuilding efforts took place without displacing residents.
He highlighted that keeping residents in their areas during reconstruction is more efficient, avoiding the financial and logistical burdens associated with temporary relocations.
Additionally, Madbouli assured that Egypt has a strategic reserve of essential goods sufficient for at least six months.
He urged citizens to avoid bulk purchasing, which can lead to waste, and to adopt daily or bi-daily shopping habits, a common practice in many countries.
On the old rental law, Madbouli revealed that the government is preparing an implementation plan in line with the Constitutional Court’s ruling. "This issue is undergoing broad societal dialogue to ensure a balanced approach that protects both landlords’ and tenants’ rights, particularly vulnerable groups."
A transitional phase will be introduced to ensure gradual adjustments, with specialized committees working on fair solutions for all parties, the premier concluded. (MENA)
