CAIRO, Feb 13 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli stressed on Thursday that Egypt will host an emergency Arab summit to discuss the Palestinian issue, emphasizing that all Arab countries consider this issue a priority and are actively engaged in the file.

He said Egypt is leading efforts to address the crisis as a key regional concern.

During a press conference after the weekly Cabinet meeting, Madbouli reiterated Egypt’s firm rejection of any forced displacement of the Palestinian people and expressed Cairo's full support of their right to establish an independent state.

He underscored Egypt's unwavering solidarity with Palestine at this critical time.

The prime minister also highlighted Egypt’s ongoing humanitarian and logistical support for Palestinians through daily aid truck deliveries.

Minister of Supply Ali Moselhi presented a comprehensive report during the Cabinet meeting on efforts made by his ministry and its affiliated bodies as regards the entry of aid trucks.

Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar provided updates on the number of injured Palestinians, including children, who have been admitted to Egyptian hospitals since the ceasefire deal came into effect.

Madbouli noted that Egypt has received thousands of injured Palestinians from Gaza since October 7, 2023, many of whom remain in Egypt due to the severity of their injuries.

He stressed that Egypt is actively engaging on multiple fronts, including diplomatic and political channels as a Hamas delegation is currently in Cairo for talks on the ceasefire while the foreign minister is conducting shuttle diplomatic tours, one of them took him to Washington, to convey Egypt’s stance towards the Palestinian issue.
