CAIRO, Feb 13 (MENA) - The government is finalizing a comprehensive plan to enhance tourism promotion, especially with the upcoming opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli told MENA on Thursday.

Expecting GEM to attract an additional 3 million tourists, Madbouli described the opening ceremony as a significant global event that will showcase Egypt’s rich cultural, historical, and archaeological heritage to the world.

Despite facing global challenges, Madbouli expressed optimism that tourism numbers in 2025 will exceed those of 2024, highlighting the remarkable performance of the sector.

He pointed out that the government is actively creating opportunities to promote Egyptian tourism, mentioning the global attention generated by YouTuber MrBeast's recent video on the Pyramids, which significantly increased interest in Egypt’s ancient treasures.
