CAIRO, Feb 13 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli stressed that the Egyptian state is continuing efforts to ensure the complete implementation of the ceasefire agreement and alleviate the suffering on Gazans through the delivery of humanitarian assistance into Gaza in cooperation with different partners.

The premier's remarks came while chairing the government's weekly meeting on Thursday.

He outlined the most important political events in the region over the past days, topped by the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and their serious consequences on both the regional and global levels.

Madbouli underscored the importance of efforts exerted by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to communicate with world leaders and international organizations to discuss extraordinary conditions in the region.

He underlined the importance of Egypt's announcement of hosting an emergency Arab summit on February 27 following coordination with Bahrain, the current chair of the Arab summit, to review the recent updates of the Palestinian cause.

Moreover, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar highlighted efforts exerted by the Egyptian state to treat thousands of wounded Palestinians coming from Gaza and offer necessary medical care to them.

Additionally, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk tackled the tireless endeavors made by the General Committee for Foreign Aid at the ministry, which has launched 13 aid convoys so far to support the Gazans in cooperation with the Catholic Relief Services.

Domestically, the prime minister said the government is keen to regularly and closely follow up on the availability of all kinds of commodities in local markets and ensure that strategic goods are offered to consumers at affordable prices ahead of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

Meanwhile, Madbouli referred to his inspection visit to Egypt's giant Zohr gas field in the eastern Mediterranean after the arrival of drillship Saipem 10000 to begin work at the gas field.

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi pointed out to preparations for holding the eighth edition of Egypt's International Energy Exhibition or EGYPES 2025 with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attending. The event is slated for February 17-19 under the rubric "building safe and sustainable future for energy." (MENA)
