CAIRO, April 3 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli discussed during a meeting with Mohamed Maait, the executive director and member of the Executive Board, representing Arab countries and the Maldives at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) a number of joint cooperation files with the Fund.

Official Spokesman for the Cabinet Mohamed el Homsani said the meeting, which was held at the government district in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) on Thursday, aimed at following up on the approval of IMF Executive Board of completing the Fourth Review of the Extended Fund Facility Arrangement for Egypt.

The spokesman said the disbursement of $1.2 billion to Egypt was completed following the fourth review of the country's $8 billion economic reform program, after allowing Egypt to waive a primary budget surplus target.

The meeting also discussed the approval of the IMF's executive board on Egypt's request for an arrangement under the resilience and sustainability facility with access to about $1.3 billion that Cairo first requested financing under the facility in 2022, added Homsani. (MENA)
