CAIRO, March 31 (MENA) - The State Information Service (SIS) said that millions of Egyptians gathered in rallies following their Eid al-Fitr prayers Monday morning at hundreds of public squares, mosques, and Islamic centers across all of Egypt’s governorates.
It stated that these millions of people filled all 6,240 squares designated for the Eid prayers and in streets and surrounding areas raising Palestinian and Egyptian flags, as well as banners in both Arabic and English.
They listened to speeches delivered by some of the demonstrators, and chanted powerful slogans during their massive gatherings which lasted for hours after the Eid al-Fitr prayers had concluded, SIS added.
The State Information Service highlighted that these crowds were focused on several clear, direct political messages, leaving no room for misinterpretation. “The first message was meant to express their full support for the Egyptian political leadership in its steadfast rejection of the bloody aggression against Gaza, as well as their unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and their rights from the very start of the assault. The second message carried their firm rejection of any plans to forcibly displace Palestinian brothers and sisters from their lands. The third message was to voice their unequivocal condemnation of the genocide being perpetrated against the Gaza Strip, with a call for the international community to take immediate and decisive action to stop it. The fourth message was a resolute rejection of any attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause, which can only be resolved by the Palestinian people achieving their legitimate rights—foremost among them the establishment of their independent state on their land within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem (Al Quds) as its capital. The fifth message was a call for an immediate, comprehensive, and final ceasefire in Gaza, to end the ongoing tragedy of its people caused by the brutal war of extermination they are facing.”
The State Information Service concluded its statement by emphasizing that these mass rallies and the direct, unequivocal messages they carry, serve as a powerful reaffirmation of the authenticity and strength of Egypt’s popular stance toward the Palestinian cause, a stance that has remained firm for nearly eight decades. “These demonstrations also reflect complete harmony with the decisive positions taken and publicly declared by Egypt’s political leadership since the aggression against Gaza began.”
It asserted that “Egypt, as a unified nation, remains resolute and steadfast, committed to supporting the Palestinian people and ensuring that the aggression against them ceases and that their full, legitimate rights are restored.”
