CAIRO, March 4 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has met with Syria's transitional President Ahmed al-Sharaa on the sidelines of the extraordinary Arab Summit held in the New Administrative Capital on Tuesday.
Sisi emphasized Egypt's keenness to support the Syrian people, help them achieve their aspirations, and take into consideration their will and choices as regards reaching stability and development, Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el Shennawy said.
The Egyptian leader affirmed the importance of launching a comprehensive political process that includes all components of the Syrian people and does not exclude any party.
In the same regard, Sisi emphasized Egypt’s keenness on the unity and territorial integrity of Syria, stressing Cairo’s rejection of any assault on Syrian lands.
Meanwhile, the Syrian president underlined his keenness to start a new page of fraternal relations with Arab states, especially Egypt, pointing out to his desire to work together with Cairo in a way that helps achieve the interests of both countries as well as those of the Arab world.
Sharaa also appreciated the Egyptian efforts in support of the unity and territorial integrity of Arab states and restoring regional stability. (MENA)
