CAIRO, March 4 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi voiced Tuesday Egypt’s permanent and steadfast support for Lebanon.

This came during Sisi's meeting today with his Lebanese counterpart Joseph Aoun, on the sidelines of the extraordinary Arab Summit held in the New Administrative Capital.

Sisi stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between Egypt and Lebanon in all fields, especially in the economic aspects, the spokesperson for the presidency said.

The Egyptian companies are ready to engage in the development and reconstruction process in Lebanon, Sisi said, noting Egypt’s readiness to provide all possible means of support to raise the efficiency and enhance the capabilities of Lebanese state institutions.

Sisi reiterated Egypt's backing of implementing the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon and UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

The two presidents also stressed the need for the immediate and complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese president appreciates the strong “fraternal” relations between Egypt and Lebanon, and Egypt's continued support for Lebanon and its people.

The two presidents also stressed their aspiration to enhance bilateral cooperation in all fields. (MENA)
