CAIRO, Feb 2 (MENA) - President Adel Fattah El Sisi received on Sunday Djibouti's Foreign Minister Mahamoud Ali Youssouf in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Djiboutian Ambassador to Egypt Ahmed Ali Berri.
Presidential spokesman Mohamed el Shennawy said the president emphasized during the meeting the continuation of Egypt's efforts to support the unity of Somalia and the integrity of its territories.
They underlined the importance of joint efforts to ensure security in Bab el-Mandeb Strait and normal navigation movement in the Red Sea, said the spokesman.
The meeting also dealt with means to cement cooperation between Egypt and Djibouti on issues of mutual concern and the importance of exploring more horizons of cooperation to achieve the aspirations of the two peoples, added Shennawy.
The president discussed with the Djiboutian top diplomat developments in the Horn of Africa and efforts to restore stability and security to the region. They discussed developments in Somalia, he added.
Youssouf conveyed the greetings of Djibouti's president Ismail Omar Guelleh to president Sisi, who praised bilateral relations and expressed Egypt's keenness on boosting them. (MENA)
