CAIRO, Jan 31 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty affirmed on Friday Egypt's full solidarity and support for Lebanon during this critical stage it is going through.
He reiterated Egypt's bolstering of the Lebanese national institutions in fulfilling their duties.
Abdelatty made his remarks during a meeting he held Friday, on the sidelines of a visit to Beirut, with Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri.
During the meeting, the two sides tackled the latest developments on the Lebanese arena.
The minister stressed Egypt's brace for the implementation of the agreement on cessation of hostilities in South Lebanon and called for the immediate and complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the region. This would enable the Lebanese army to enforce the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, he said.
Abdelatty also emphasized Egypt's readiness to contribute to the rebuilding process in Lebanon, expressing aspiration to intensify joint efforts to boost aspects of economic cooperation across various fields. (MENA)
