The Egyptian foreign minister referred to the important cooperation between his country and Djibouti in the fish farming domain, saying such cooperation will be translated into practical steps for the better benefit of both peoples.
Abdelatty said he briefed his Djiboutian counterpart on President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's decision to establish the Egyptian Agency for Export and Investment Guarantee, which will play a major role in encouraging Egyptian companies, particularly small and medium-sized ones, to enhance trade exchange and exports to Djibouti and strengthen Egyptian investments.
He said talks with his Djiboutian counterpart also covered the latest developments in Gaza in light of the reached ceasefire agreement and Egyptian-Qatari-American efforts in this regard.
Abdelatty said the current situation in Libya, Sudan, and the Horn of Africa region, as well as maritime security, figured high during the talks.
He reiterated Egypt’s full support for Somalia's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
The top diplomat said he briefed his Djiboutian counterpart on Egypt’s water concerns and the coordination Egypt is now undertaking to ensure security and stability in both the Arab and African regions.
The Djiboutian foreign minister said he handed over a message from Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh to President Sisi that reflects the strong relations between the two nations.
He noted that regional developments have prompted Egypt and Djibouti to engage in continuous consultations, stressing that the national security of both countries is closely interconnected and that anything affecting Bab el Mandeb Strait would directly impact Egypt’s security and economy.
He lauded deeply rooted relations between the two countries.
The Djiboutian foreign minister acknowledged President Sisi’s success in maintaining Egypt's security in this turbulent region.
Cooperation between Egypt and Djibouti will continue, particularly in the fields of health and education, expressing his thanks to Egypt for its support in the health sector and for hosting several Djiboutian students. (MORE)
