CAIRO, Jan 31 (MENA) - Foreign, Emigration and Expatriates Affairs Minister Badr Abdelatty stressed Egypt's confidence in the ability of all Lebanese parties to stand together and overcome the delicate stage their country is going through and achieve national unity to meet the aspirations of the Lebanese brothers.

Abdelatty was speaking during a meeting with Leader of the Lebanese Forces Party Samir Geagea in Beirut on Friday.

He underscored Cairo's full support for Lebanon at such a critical stage.

He also emphasized the importance of implementing the cessation of hostilities agreement in South Lebanon, which came into force on November 27.

Abdelatty called for an immediate and full withdrawal of Israeli forces from South Lebanon, to enable Lebanon's army and state institutions to implement UNSC Resolution No. 1701, which calls for an immediate ceasefire, the deployment of Lebanese troops and UN peacekeepers to South Lebanon, and the withdrawal from the same area of the Israeli troops and Hezbollah.
