CAIRO, Jan 17 (MENA) - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nabil Habashi participated Friday in the inauguration ceremony of Mozambican President Daniel Chapo.

After the ceremony, Chapo received Habashi in his office, where the Egyptian diplomat conveyed greetings and congratulations from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on assuming his role as President of Mozambique.

Habashi said 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and Mozambique’s independence, which serves as a motivator to further deepen the historic ties on all levels and elevate them to new horizons.

The deputy minister also praised the Mozambican president's inaugural address, which covered political, economic, and social aspects to promote development and progress in his country.

For his part, Chapo asked that his greetings be conveyed to President Sisi, expressing appreciation for the strong and longstanding historical ties between the two nations.

He also expressed his aspiration to strengthen bilateral relations and expand areas of cooperation with Egypt. (MENA)
