CAIRO, Jan 17 (MENA) - Assistant Foreign Minister for American Affairs Ambassador Sameh Aboul-Enein on Friday discussed in a meeting with Alexandre Lévêque, the assistant deputy minister for Europe, Arctic, Middle East and Maghreb at the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ongoing arrangements for holding bilateral political and economic consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers in Ottawa in April.
Lévêque is currently on a visit to Egypt as part of his regional tour that coincides with Canada's imminent assuming of the presidency of the G7.
The two diplomats also probed ways of fostering trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Aboul-Enein reviewed the nomination file of former minister of tourism and antiquities Khaled El-Enany for the post of UNESCO Director-General, especially in light of Canada's presidency of the G7 in 2025. (MENA)\
