CAIRO, April 22 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli directed the Ministry of Education and Technical Education to develop a framework for public-private partnerships in managing and operating specialized technical schools aligned with labor market needs.
During a meeting in the New Administrative Capital, Madbouli met with Education and Technical Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif and leading business figures, including Ahmed Elsewedy, Ahmed Ezz, and Hisham Talaat Mostafa, to discuss expanding private sector involvement in vocational education.
He confirmed that the government is committed to supporting technical education and is ready to offer incentives to encourage private investment in this vital sector. The plan includes creating schools in fields such as manufacturing, construction, and technology.
Education minister Abdel Latif highlighted current cooperation with countries like Japan and Italy, and proposed partnerships with Egyptian companies to help modernize technical schools.
Hanan El Reihani, CEO of Technical Education at Elsewedy company, presented a plan to establish 100 technology-focused schools across Egypt, serving 500 to 1,000 students each, as part of a broader initiative to bridge the skills gap in the labor market.
Madbouli stressed the importance of a clear partnership framework to scale up efforts and ensure vocational school graduates are equipped for national and international job markets. (MENA)
