CAIRO, March 22 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reaffirmed the essential role of Egyptian women in building the state and sustaining its progress, during a ceremony honoring Egyptian women and ideal mothers.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and many female ministers and public figures.
The President listened to a presentation from the head of the National Council for Women on the council’s efforts in supporting women's empowerment, especially in leadership roles and social inclusion.
Ministers Maya Morsi of Social Solidarity and Rania Mashat of Planning and International Cooperationreviewed programs such as Takaful and Karama and various government-led initiatives aimed at expanding economic support for women, especially female-headed households.
A documentary film was also presented, highlighting the state's role in advancing women's rights and opportunities.
El Sisi engaged in a dialogue with participants, discussing issues such as motherhood, Alzheimer's awareness, the role of art and media, and the influence of women in shaping social values.
In his speech, the President "I would like to offer my warmest greetings on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, which coincides with the observance of the Great Lent (the Great Fast) for our Christian brothers. Many happy returns. May Allah the Almighty bring back these blessed days to us with goodness, blessings, and prosperity."
"we gather today to honor the great mothers of Egypt, the embodiment of sacrifice, the symbol of resilience and the source of inspiration," he said.
"This is a day on which we affirm our profound appreciation for the Egyptian woman, who has always been the very lifeline of this homeland and the true architect of its enduring glories."
"The Egyptian mother is not only the nurturer of her children, but also the guardian of our nation's identity and cultural heritage. She is the beating heart that instills the values of love, tolerance, and belonging in the souls of generations, thereby cultivating an enlightened generation poised to embrace responsibility and overcome challenges," the president said.
"Women of Egypt have shouldered the burdens and triumphs of this nation, facing every challenge and acknowledging their vital role as the pillars of our families, the cornerstone of our society and the very essence of life in our beloved homeland."
"I have consistently affirmed, and I reiterate today, that the Egyptian woman was the bedrock upon which our enduring Egyptian civilization was established, a civilization that has flourished for thousands of years, marked by its unparalleled magnificence, grandeur, refinement and elevation," highlighted the president.
He added "Since the dawn of history, every stride of our Egyptian nation carries the indelible mark of the Egyptian woman, a partner in the course of life, a scholar and writer, a doctor and teacher, a mother and wife, a sister and daughter."
"The nation deeply appreciates your role and contributions to our stability, dignity, and prosperity," he said.
"From this position, I affirm that Egypt will remain committed to strengthening the status of women and providing them with all means of support," he said.
"From this standpoint, I also affirm our keenness to encourage inspiring models of Egyptian women across all scientific, cultural, and social fields, to achieve more success and influence," he added.
"I emphasize our absolute rejection of any violation or violence to which women may be subjected. I have given directives to the government to confront all forms of violence against women and to provide a safe environment that protects their rights and ensures their safety."
"Our meeting today comes at a turbulent time, as our region and the world are grappling with grave challenges and difficulties that threaten the security and stability of peoples. I tell you this frankly: Egypt's responsibility amid these challenges has grown, but hope for the future is the light that guides us through these challenges," the president said.
"As I conclude my speech, we renew our pledge, hand in hand, to exert more efforts to serve our nation and improve the conditions of our society," he added.
"We believe in our ability to unite and confront all challenges. This ability is the only way to continue fulfilling the aspirations of our genuine Egyptian people," he concluded. (MENA)
