CAIRO, Feb 12 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty stressed on Wednesday the importance of de-escalation in east the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and reaching a political settlement to end tension in the African country.

During a meeting with Rwanda's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe, the foreign minister underlined the role played by Rwanda and Kenya in ending the humanitarian disaster in the DRC.

He hailed Egyptian-Rwandan relations during the past years, expressing Cairo's keenness on pushing forward relations in the fields of economy and investment, as well as promoting partnerships in the domains of infrastructure, logistics corridors, energy, health, agriculture and capacity building.

They discussed the role of the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) in training Rwandan youth in many domains.

The foreign minister pointed out to the Magdy Yacoub medical project in Rwanda which has become an edifice providing medical treatment in Africa.

Minister Abdelatty and his Rwandan counterpart stressed the importance of coordination at international organizations in terms of nominations to promote joint action.

They exchanged viewpoints on issues of mutual concern and the latest developments in the DRC. (MENA)
