CAIRO, Feb 8 (MENA) – Mozambique’s Foreign Minister Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas expressed appreciation for Egypt’s strong support for her country’s stability and development.
She also praised Egypt’s main role in Africa and its efforts to strengthen regional cooperation, which contribute to advancing shared interests across the continent.
During a meeting with Egypt's Ambassador in Maputo Mohamed Farghal, Lucas conveyed Mozambique’s interest in deepening collaboration with Egypt and benefiting from its expertise in various sectors.
She stressed the importance of expanding bilateral ties to support economic growth and improve living standards in Mozambique.
For his part, Farghal reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening relations with Mozambique on multiple fronts, recalling Egypt’s historical support for Mozambique’s independence.
He outlined a comprehensive plan to boost cooperation, which includes holding the first round of political consultations, organizing the third session of the joint committee, implementing the 2019 visa exemption agreement for official passports, and signing a memorandum of understanding on investment cooperation.
