CAIRO, Feb 8 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Saturday praised strong bilateral relations between Egypt and Hungary.

During a phone call with his Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, Abdelatty welcomed the upcoming fifth round of the Egyptian-Hungarian Joint Economic Committee, scheduled to be held in Cairo in April.

He also highlighted the remarkable progress in parliamentary cooperation between the two nations.

He extended gratitude to Hungary for its supportive stance toward Egypt within the European Union, reaffirming Egypt's crucial role in maintaining stability in the Middle East and safeguarding Europe from illegal migration risks.

The two ministers also exchanged views on regional developments, particularly the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, Egypt's efforts to secure a ceasefire, maritime security in the Red Sea, stability in the Sahel and Sahara region, and trilateral cooperation in Africa. (MENA)
