CAIRO, Feb 8 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said Cairo is looking forward to bolstering economic, investment and trade cooperation with Seychelles, to serve the common interests of both countries.

Abdelatty made the remarks during a phone call with his Seychellois counterpart Sylvestre Radegonde on Saturday.

During their phone conversation, the two ministers discussed ways to cement bilateral relations, aspects of joint cooperation and coordination at the African Union's level, and preparations for the upcoming African summit.

The top diplomats asserted the importance of promoting joint consultation on issues on the agenda of the upcoming African summit, with a view to achieving the common interests of African countries and advancing sustainable development efforts.

They also discussed how to unify positions vis-a-vis regional and international priority issues for boosting inter-African unity and cohesion in the face of ongoing challenges.

They also agreed to exchange support for the two countries' candidacies at regional and international forums, which would contribute to achieving common interests and promoting African representation before international institutions. (MENA)
