WORLD CAPITALS, Feb 6 (MENA) – Leading international newspapers and news agencies have extensively covered Egypt’s strong rejection of any plans to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza, referencing an official statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

The Washington Post noted that Egypt is actively opposing US President Donald Trump’s reported plan for Palestinian displacement, highlighting Egyptian diplomatic efforts to block any forced migration attempts.

The newspaper added that Egyptian officials warned such actions would destabilize the region.

The Guardian reported that Egypt opposes Trump's proposal for US control over Gaza, stressing that such a move could jeopardize the ceasefire and reignite conflict.

The newspaper also cited reports from Israeli media that Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz had instructed the military to prepare a plan for what he called "voluntary departure" of Gazans.

According to The Independent, Egypt has consistently rejected the forced displacement of Palestinians and maintains that Gaza’s reconstruction must take place without the removal of its people.

The Associated Press (AP) detailed Egypt’s intensified diplomatic campaign to counter any forced relocation plans, warning of dire regional consequences if Palestinians are expelled from their land.

Meanwhile, Reuters reported that Egypt’s stance is part of broader Arab and international opposition to Trump’s proposal, with Egyptian officials denouncing the idea as "ethnic cleansing" and a blatant violation of Palestinian rights.

Fortune described Egypt’s diplomatic campaign as particularly aggressive against the proposed displacement plan, noting that Cairo warned the plan could jeopardize the peace treaty it signed with Israel over 40 years ago.

Al Arabiya English pointed out that US officials have already adjusted aspects of their proposal due to widespread international rejection.

Israeli newspaper The Times of Israel confirmed Egypt’s firm opposition to any mass displacement of Gazans, citing Egyptian concerns that such actions could destabilize the region and undermine existing peace agreements.

Devdiscourse news website also covered Egypt’s categorical rejection of any forced Palestinian migration, emphasizing Cairo’s call for a fair and just resolution to the Palestinian issue through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

It is noteworthy that the Egyptian Foreign Ministry has reiterated its firm position against any plans to relocate Palestinians outside their land, warning that such a move would have severe repercussions for regional security and stability.

The statement stressed that the only viable solution is the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.(MENA)
