CAIRO, Feb 8 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty asserted the greater interest of Egypt in its relations with Mozambique.
That was highlighted by a visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Mozambique in 2023, the foreign minister said at a telephone call with Mozambique's Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas on Saturday.
Abdelatty congratulated Lucas on assuming her post and said he is looking forward to promoting joint action to boost bilateral relations between the two countries on all fronts.
The foreign minister underscored the importance of promoting ongoing cooperation along with tapping new vistas to enhance joint ties.
Egypt and Mozambique mark 50 years of diplomatic ties establishment this year.
Abdelatty confirmed Egypt remains committed to supporting efforts exerted by Mozambique to combat terrorism.
The two ministers discussed preparations for holding the first round of political consultations between the two countries this year.
They also probed a number of issues of mutual concern. (MENA)
