CAIRO, Feb 3 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi Monday directed to continue renovating higher education facilities, campuses and buildings along with introducing digitalization programs to upgrade the higher education system and stimulate scientific research.

The renovation falls within the framework of implementing the state's strategies to enhance the quality of university education, the post-graduate education and scientific research, in order to cater to the needs of the labor market and development requirements.

The strategy focuses on prioritizing educational and research institutions specializing in scientific and applied science fields and studies related to technology, artificial intelligence, digitalization and engineering.

This president made the remarks during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour, Presidency Adviser for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Head of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority Lieutenant General Ahmed el Shazly, and Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Major General Ahmed al Azzazi.

The meeting tackled progress in construction work in educational institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, according to Spokesman for the Presidency Mohamed el Shennawy.

The meeting also reviewed the state's efforts to develop the academic and scientific aspects of universities and research institutions, the spokesman added.

The president was briefed on work progress in the establishment of national universities nationwide to accommodate the growing number of students, in line with the state's strategy to build and equip Egyptian universities according to international standards.

President Sisi was posted on efforts exerted in the file of digital transformation and the automation of educational and research services, both in universities and other institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the spokesman added. (MENA)
