CAIRO, Feb 3 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty lauded the level of cooperation between Egypt and Bahrain, especially in light of the two countries' keenness to promote relations to broader prospects.
Abdelatty made the remarks during a meeting Monday with Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, as part of his current visit to Manama.
The foreign minister conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the Bahraini monarch, underlining the importance of joint cooperation to enhance the Gulf's security, being an integral part of Egypt's national security.
The pair discussed the latest political and security developments in the region, where Abdelatty briefed the Bahraini king on the updates related to implementing the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and allowing the access of humanitarian aid into the Palestinian enclave.
The top Egyptian diplomat shed light on Egypt's stance on the situation in Syria, emphasizing the significance of maintaining Arab coordination on regional issues and building on the outcome of the recent Arab Summit hosted by Manama.
On his part, the Bahraini king voiced his appreciation to President Sisi, lauding the rapid development in Egyptian-Bahraini relations.
The Bahraini monarch called for activating the mechanisms of joint action to strengthen bilateral ties. (MENA)
