CAIRO, Dec 18 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted the importance of boosting bilateral relations with Indonesia in the fields of trade, investment, manufacture, IT and communications along with food security and renewable energy.
The president said the state is always ready for offering all facilitations that ensure a success of the work of Indonesian companies and investors in Egypt.
The president's remarks came while receiving Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday, who is paying an official visit to Egypt.
The two leaders held bilateral talks, followed by plenary talks attended by Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan el Khatib.
Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el Shenawy said President Sisi welcomed Egypt's guest and stressed the depth of historical relations between the two friendly countries and peoples.
He added Egypt is looking forward to promoting bilateral partnership with Indonesia on all fronts and intensifying cooperation and political coordination regarding regional and international issues and crises.
Shenawy said the meeting also discussed ways of boosting cultural and scientific cooperation.
The Indonesian president thanked the Egyptian leadership and people for educational chances that have been offered to Indonesian students over the past years in Egyptian universities and Al Azhar University.
The spokesman said Subianto appreciated efforts exerted to establish a strong infrastructure and lure more foreign investments, in addition to the importance of scaling up Indonesian investments in the country.
The spokesman added the two presidents tackled the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, Syria and Lebanon.
They emphasized the importance of maintaining efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and the return of stability to Syria and Lebanon. (MENA)
