The Kuwaiti side affirmed full support for Egypt’s water security as an integral part of Arab water security, and rejected any actions or measures that infringe on Egypt’s rights to the Nile waters, according to the joint statement.
It expressed full solidarity with Egypt’s measures to protect its water security and interests, and expressed deep concern over continued unilateral actions, the statement said.
Both sides called on upstream states to refrain from such actions that could harm the water interests of Egypt and Sudan, it added.
The two countries expressed their support for the legitimate Yemeni government led by the Presidential Leadership Council and affirmed their commitment to Yemen’s unity, stability, and territorial integrity, while rejecting interference in its internal affairs, the statement read.
They voiced support for the Yemeni government’s stance in favor of peace based on the agreed-upon references: the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and UN Security Council Resolution 2216.
They welcomed all international efforts, including those of Saudi Arabia and Oman, to resume the political process in Yemen toward a permanent and comprehensive solution that preserves Yemen’s unity, as the only path to resolving the Yemeni crisis, according to the statement.
