For his part, the Sudanese foreign minister underlined the importance of his constant consultations with his Egyptian counterpart, given the gravity of the crisis in Sudan and the wider region.
He described the war in Sudan as a conspiracy targeting the country and its people.
Al-Sharif conveyed a message from the head of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lt. General Abdel Fattah Al Burhan, to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, expressing gratitude for Egypt’s continued support to Sudan and its people.
He noted that Egypt’s role is deeply valued, both by Sudanese inside Sudan and those who have sought refuge in Egypt.
He handed an official invitation to Sisi to visit Sudan, expressing hope for the visit to take place soon.
Al-Sharif confirmed that Al Burhan will attend the Arab emergency summit in Cairo on March 4, and discussions also covered Sudan’s participation in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit on March 7.
He reaffirmed Sudan’s full support for Palestine and rejection of any attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinian people. (MENA)
