CAIRO, Feb 23 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty stated that Sudan’s territorial integrity is a red line for Egypt, rejecting any attempts to create a parallel government.

During a joint press conference with Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Youssef Al-Sharif, Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for Sudan and expressed confidence in its recovery.

Egypt and Sudan agreed to form a joint task force to draft a reconstruction plan, focusing on Sudan’s priorities. Abdelatty said Egyptian companies will contribute based on their expertise in infrastructure and development.

Discussions also addressed Egypt’s support for Sudan’s sovereignty and their shared position on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). Both countries insist on a legally binding agreement and reject unilateral actions by Ethiopia.

A high-level (2+2) meeting between the foreign and water ministers will be held to coordinate water security and regional stability.

For his part, Sudanese FM said that the war would end with the victory of the Sudanese Armed Forces and popular resistance against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

He stated that Sudan would not accept any foreign-backed parallel government, aligning with Egypt’s stance against external interference in Sudanese affairs. (MENA)
