CAIRO, Feb 5 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi underlined the importance of transitioning to a fully integrated digital society, supporting freelancers, and increasing their numbers.
The president highlighted the need for expansion in training and building digital capacities through applied technology schools, CREATIVA – Innovation Hub and investment in human resources, particularly among youth.
Moreover, he asserted the importance of providing scholarships and training programs that align with the modern labor market needs and knowledge-based economy.
The president made the remarks during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, and Director of the Egyptian Military Academy Ashraf Salem Zaher.
The meeting reviewed the state's efforts in qualifying and training cadres in communications, information technology, and programming domains, Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el Shennawy said.
These efforts are crucial for the digital transformation, hence boosting digital exports as one of the mainstays of the development of the national economy.
The meeting also highlighted ongoing efforts to bolster Egypt's competitive capabilities in this domain in order to become a prominent global destination for investments of companies operating in the field of exporting digital services, including programming.

The talks also tackled the progress realized so far concerning the Digital Egypt Pioneers Initiative, which aims to qualify a huge number of youths through scholarships in the various domains of communications and IT, thus helping them to access the labor market of such promising sector in light of the technical and scientific training offered by major companies.
The initiative also aims to develop personal skills, including language proficiency.
The meeting detailed the specializations included under the initiative, which cover artificial intelligence, data science, cyber security, programming development, networking and digital infrastructure, digital arts, electronic circuit design, and embedded systems development.
The meeting highlighted the importance of maximizing the number of beneficiaries the initiative, the spokesman said, noting that the initiative will be open for registration to any citizen across Egypt who has the capability to learn and desires to pursue a career in communications and information technology, regardless their professional background or academic qualifications.
