Speaking during the press conference, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said that he handed over an official invitation from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to pay a visit to Egypt in the near future.

Abdelatty also referred to directives issued by President Sisi to work on reactivating and strengthening cooperation frameworks between Egypt and Lebanon.

He, meanwhile, expressed his aspiration to convene the joint higher committee under the prime ministers of the two countries during this year, immediately after the formation of the Lebanese government led by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.

Regarding his meeting with his Lebanese counterpart, Abdelatty said that talks dealt with Egypt's support with Lebanon in the reconstruction process and resolving crises within the framework of an international effort.

The government and the Egyptian companies stand fully ready to support Lebanon and carry out all the projects related to the reconstruction process, he added.

Talks also tackled the importance of implementing the UN Security Council Resolution 1701. he said, affirming Egypt's keenness on implementing a complete and undiminished Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon. (MORE)
