CAIRO, Dec 23 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty asserted the importance of the Egyptian role in supporting issues of the African continent on all fronts.

Abdelatty's remarks came while receiving Hanan Morsy, the Egyptian candidate for the post of Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission on Monday to follow up on her electoral campaign.

Morsy is paying an African tour to communicate with member states in the African Union (AU).

Abdelatty said the nomination of Hanan Morsy comes as part of action plans of the Egyptian state to promote presence in regional and international organizations.

The foreign minister emphasized Egyptian diplomatic efforts will continue to secure this candidacy.

For her part, Morsy highlighted the most important stations in her recent African tour that included several meetings with heads, ministers and senior officials in AU's member states. (MENA)
