CAIRO, Nov 23 (MENA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Kamel el Wazir said the Egyptian-Sudanese Forum for Businessmen, which kicked off for the first time here on Saturday, seeks to enhance the frameworks of cooperation between Egypt and Sudan at all levels.

Addressing the forum's opening session, Wazir added the forum is also meant to maximize the use of the two countries' resources and promote trade exchange.

The forum is of great importance for furthering joint industrial investments for mutual benefit, creating new jobs, securing necessary equipment and machinery, increasing the technical component of the industry, and stimulating economic development, Wazir pointed out.

The forum aims to share viewpoints about creating new frameworks to deal with the repercussions of wars, which took a heavy toll on the economy and disrupted production, the minister noted.

"International cooperation is the key to facing these challenges, and we must work together to ensure a better future for all," the minister said.

He added that Egypt is well aware of its critical role in promoting economic stability and development in the region, and is always working to unite efforts with its partners and brothers to achieve this goal.

Upon the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Egypt has always been and will always be a genuine supporter for all conflict-hit sisterly Arab countries, a thing which testifies to Egypt's enduring role in the region, Wazir said. (MENA)
