CAIRO, July 3 (MENA) – Egypt and the European Union held virtual political consultations on African affairs.
Ihab Awad, the Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs, led the Egyptian delegation, while Rita Laranjinha, the Director for Africa at the European External Action Service, headed the EU side.
The talks included the Sudan crisis, developments in the Horn of Africa and the Sahel, and Nile water issues.
Both sides discussed cooperation between the African Union and the European Union, and exchanged views on regional matters and joint action at international forums.
They agreed to continue consultations to support stability and development in Africa and to strengthen institutional ties between the two unions. (MENA)
