CAIRO, April 27 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held phone calls on Sunday with his Omani counterpart Badr al-Busaidi and Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi and US President's Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
Abdelatty addressed regional developments in his calls, particularly regarding the third round of negotiations between the United States and Iran on the Iranian nuclear issue, which was held yesterday in the Omani capital, Muscat, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tamim Khallaf said.
He was briefed on the latest developments in the discussions between the Iranians and the Americans, he added.
The top diplomat asserted that Egypt fully supports initiatives aimed at reaching political solutions through dialogue and negotiation, which would enhance the chances of achieving security and stability in the region, according to the spokesperson.
Abdelatty voiced hope that his discussions would contribute to de-escalation and mitigating tensions in the region, and ushering in a new phase that will contribute to restoring regional stability. (MENA)
