CAIRO, April 10 (MENA) - Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty had a phone call on Thursday with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy.
The talks tackled means of enhancing bilateral relations, especially in the political, investment and economic domains, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khallaf said.
The talks reviewed the latest developments in the Middle East, topped by the conditions in the Gaza Strip.
Lammy stood on the efforts exerted by Egypt to return to the ceasefire deal, start the implementation of the second phase, and halt the current Israeli escalation.
He stressed the importance of rallying up efforts to contain the escalation in the region and avoid expansion of the conflict.
The talks also tackled the situation in Sudan, the spokesman said, noting that Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's support for Sudan, its security, stability, national institutions, and and integrity of lands.
The two sides exchanged views on the latest developments in Sudan and the efforts to restore stability and realize peace in the country. (MENA)
