CAIRO, April 17 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met Thursday with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the start of his official visit to Algiers.
During the meeting, Abdelatty delivered a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
The minister praised the historic ties between Cairo and Algiers, expressing Egypt’s keenness to deepen cooperation across various sectors in a way that serves the interests and aspirations of both nations.
He also emphasized Egypt’s readiness to host the 9th session of the Egyptian-Algerian High Joint Committee in Cairo later this year, alongside a business forum aimed at enhancing economic and investment cooperation.
Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s willingness to support development projects in Algeria through experienced Egyptian companies, particularly in the areas of infrastructure and construction.
The meeting also addressed key regional issues, notably the Palestinian cause. Abdelatty outlined Egypt’s ongoing efforts to resume the ceasefire in Gaza, facilitate humanitarian aid access, and support the Arab-Islamic plan for early recovery and reconstruction, ensuring the presence of Palestinians on their land.
Developments in Libya and Sudan were also discussed during the talks.
Tebboune conveyed his greetings to President Sisi and reaffirmed the strong fraternal ties and shared history between the two countries and peoples. (MENA)
