CAIRO, March 28 (MENA) - Egyptian Ambassador to Mauritius Abir Alam Eldin discussed in a meeting with Mauritian Minister of Arts and Culture Mahendra Gondeea, ways of enhancing cultural and artistic cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides tackled the possibility of organizing cultural events in Mauritius to showcase Egypt's cultural, historical and literary heritage, according to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry on Friday.
Gondeea expressed his country's interest in fostering cultural cooperation with Egypt, stressing his readiness to facilitate the organization of joint cultural and artistic events and the exchange of delegations of artists from both countries, in addition to holding art exhibitions.
The pair underlined the importance of supporting cultural projects reflecting the rich heritage and history of the two countries and the role of cultural diplomacy in enhancing understanding, rapprochement, and dialogue between civilizations and peoples.
It was agreed the Egyptian Embassy in Mauritius will take part in "Africa Day" celebration, with displaying translated Egyptian films to promote Egyptian cinema as a source of Egypt's soft power. (MENA)
