CAIRO, March 25 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a phone call on Tuesday from his Somali counterpart Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, following a recent attempt to target his motorcade outside the presidential palace in Mogadishu.
During the call, Sisi expressed Egypt’s full solidarity with the Somali leadership and people.
He reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Somalia’s efforts to confront terrorism in all its forms, including its ideological, developmental, social, and security-related aspects.
The two presidents agreed to continue strengthening cooperation between their countries.
For his part, President Hassan Sheikh thanked Sisi for Egypt’s support and confirmed Somalia’s commitment to working together to achieve security and progress for both nations. (MENA)
