CAIRO, March 25 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli directed to present to exporters the final version of a proposed new export support program, with the view to reaching a consensus on its procedures and provisions.
The premier's remarks were made during a meeting on Tuesday to follow up on procedures and steps for reformulating an integrated export support program.
During the meeting, Madbouli said that the file of increasing exports is on top of the agenda of all bodies of the state, said Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed el-Homosani.
Today's meeting is meant to review and discuss the different items and procedures related to this vital file, he added.
This matter will contribute to a complete reformulation of the export support program, he said, noting that this mechanism plays a significant role in efforts made to beef up the volume of Egypt's exports and expand access to more high-potential export markets.
During the meeting, Madbouli reiterated the government's continued efforts to up production rates and the volume of Egyptian exports.
He also stressed that reformulating an integrated export support program will substantially contribute to stimulating exporters and maximizing the impact of the government's support directed to this vital sector, in a way that helps attain the well-taken socio-economic goals on this score.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial development and Minister of Transport and Industry Kamel el Wazir, Tourism and Antiquities Minister Sherif Fathi, Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Alaa Farouq, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan el Khatib and Deputy Finance Minister Yasser Sobhi.
Also, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk participated in the meeting via video conference. (MENA)
