CAIRO, March 20 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli held a meeting Thursday to follow up on financial status of higher education projects implemented by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority (AFEA).
Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed el Homsani said the meeting witnessed a review of the financial status of the most important projects of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research that are being carried out under the AFEA's supervision, including the file of establishing private and technological universities, together with research centers and institutes, as well as raising the efficiency and rehabilitation of the existing infrastructure for a number of universities.
The meeting also dealt with the future vision of university education institutions within the framework of maximizing benefit of available capabilities, he added.
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Chairman of the Universities Support and Development Authority Essam el-Kurdi, Secretary-General of the Council of Private Universities Maher Mesbah and Assistant Minister for Economic Policies and Finance Mohamed el- Sharqawi took part in the meeting.
According to the spokesman, the meeting also reviewed progress in the new National Oncology Institute project in Sheikh Zayed, “Hospital 500500,” along with implementation rates in the first and second phases of the project and the measures taken in this regard. (MENA)
