CAIRO, March 8 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has directed the government to continue efforts aimed at curbing inflation and increasing growth rates to support the Egyptian economy and development efforts.

This came during a meeting the president held with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouck on Sunday, said Presidential spokesman Mohamed El Shennawi.

The meeting dealt with the state's financial indices and the targets of coming fiscal year 2025/2026 which is expected to include an increase in allocations to social protection programs such Takaful and Karama.

The new budget also includes allocating more funds for supporting human resources and improving services offered to citizens, said the spokesman.

He added the president reviewed efforts aimed at achieving financial progress and reducing debts in light of the state strategy to cut them in the coming period. (MENA)
