CAIRO, March 7 (MENA) - Egypt voiced concern over ongoing clashes in the Syrian coastal province of Latakia, leaving a number of people dead and injured.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on Friday, Egypt affirmed its supportive stance towards Syria and its national institutions to overcome security challenges, expressing rejection of any moves that could affect the security, safety and stability of the Syrian people.
Egypt reaffirmed the importance of combating all forms of violence and putting the Syrian national interest above all considerations, in addition to working to survive this delicate transitional phase in Syria, the statement read.
Egypt also underlined the significance of launching a comprehensive political process that includes all Syrians without exclusion and guarantees the rights of all segments in Syria, the statement concluded. (MENA)
