CAIRO, March 8 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Benin in trade, investment, security, and energy.
During a phone call with Benin’s Foreign Minister Olushegun Bakari, Abdelatty said that Egypt is ready to support Benin’s development through economic partnerships and technical exchange.
He highlighted Egypt’s expertise in construction, infrastructure, renewable energy, digitalization, pharmaceuticals, mining, and agricultural processing.
The minister also stressed the importance of facilitating Egyptian pharmaceutical exports to Benin and strengthening cooperation between the two foreign ministries, including training programs for Benin's diplomats.
For his part, Bakari welcomed stronger ties with Egypt and expressed his intention to visit Cairo soon.
Both ministers discussed regional and international issues and agreed to maintain coordination and hold regular meetings to boost joint cooperation for the best interests of both sides. (MENA)
