CAIRO, Feb 11 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stressed over the phone the necessity of the full implementation of a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip in its three phases, releasing hostages and prisoners and facilitating the passage of humanitarian relief aid to Gaza to end the catastrophic situation there.

They also stressed the need to begin reconstruction operations in the Gaza Strip with the aim of making it inhabitable (a liveable place), without displacing its Palestinian population, and in a way that guarantees the preservation of their rights and ability to live on their land, said Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el Shennawy.

During the phone call, the two sides discussed the outcome of President Sisi's recent visit to Denmark and the strategic partnership between Egypt and Denmark in the economic, investment, and clean and renewable energy, particularly in light of Egypt's keenness on becoming a hub for production and export of Green Hydrogen, the spokesman added.

They also exchanged views on a host of regional and international issues of mutual interest, topped by the current conditions in the Gaza Strip, the spokesman further noted.

They stressed the necessity of establishing a Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) as its capital, as the only guarantee to reach lasting peace and achieve cherished stability and economic prosperity.

The two sides also discussed the conditions in Lebanon, Syria and Sudan, underlining the necessity of finding a peaceful settlement to these crises by the three countries.

They stressed the importance of exerting utmost efforts to realize stability in these countries and ensure the safety of their citizens.

As for the situation in Bab al-Mandab Strait, they underlined the need to continue efforts to stop threats and attacks targeting commercial ships that affect global trade movement and the Suez Canal revenues, and major shipping companies.

For her part, the Danish prime minister lauded Egyptian-Danish ties, stressing her country's keenness on promoting coordination with Egypt on regional and international issues of mutual interest, particularly in light of Denmark's election for non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2025-2026, starting in January, and its presidency of the council of the European Union during the second half of 2025.
