WASHINGTON, Feb 11 (MENA) – Egypt will continue exerting efforts to achieve security and stability in the region and bring about just peace for the Palestinians and Israelis under the international legitimacy Resolutioas, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said.

Abdelatty's remarks came during a meeting with US Senator Lindsey Graham, chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, in Washington on Tuesday.

Egypt also works on backing efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state based on the two-state solution, the foreign minister said.

He lauded Graham’s stances on supporting the strategic partnership between Egypt and the US, praising special ties between Cairo and Washington in different fields.

Both sides shared their visions on the latest developments in the Middle East region, reviewing Egypt’s great efforts on the ceasefire deal in Gaza, prisoner swap and the delivery of humanitarian aid into the Palestinian enclave.

Graham commended great roles played by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for backing regional security and stability, underling the need to continue efforts on ongoing coordination and consultation to achieve the common interests for the two states. (MENA)
